Pop quiz

In what sport are the powers, in increasing order: China, Germany, Norway, and the United States? (Come on, guess before you look.)

Correct: women's soccer. As I'm sure you all know, it's World Cup time again. The U.S. beat Norway yesterday to advance to the semifinals, where they face Germany on Sunday. Meanwhile, the upstart Canucks just took down China, to advance to face Sweden in the semis. I'm very proud that the Canadians play soccer like it was hockey: our girls are the goon squad of the tournament. Go Canada.
